A male construction worker died Tuesday morning after falling into an asphalt silo in southeastern Oklahoma City, fire officials reported.
The deadly accident happened around 10:30 a.m. at an industrial site in the 6900 block of South Sunnylane Road.
The man reportedly fell about 25 feet. The silo can heat up to 320 degrees.
“They ended up draining the silo in order to retrieve the body,” fire Capt. Scott Douglass said.
At least one relative of the victim worked with him at the site, authorities said.
The man’s name has not yet been released.
